My mom is so autistic that she made small talk her special interest, and by extention information about all of the people that she has ever talked to it somehow at her beck and call.

My autistic brain tried to mimic her. Unfortunately, I also got a combined type adhd from my dad (we also share a chronic illness, which makes the hyperactive part not show. My brother does not have this, and so he actually got diagnosed) so the brainfog is real.

So instead of real social skills, I now know how weather works, and can give anyone a detailed forecast for the next week. (I correctly predicted the location and amount of tornados that would touch down during a small cluster thunderstorm, they were nowhere near us)

This led me to learn about the circumstances of airplane crashes since they are prime examples of weather anomalies such as, supercooled large droplets (SLD), wind sheer, microbursts, and thick fog. I'm fairly certain I've seen an explanation of every single midair collision there had been.

Why can I name every stardew valley character? Why do I have factors of two fractions memorized down to 1/64, (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, and 1/64, and most of the combinations between them, I made geometric dragon art twice), how many types of silver and black lynel weapon types are in the depths, all of the shiny odds and what they mean statistically, can identify several constellations, and am constantly surprising my doctors with the fact I actually understand how my condition works and what my lab results mean.

Unfortunately, none of this is considered useful, apparently. I literally just want a friend to nerd out about stuff with, going to a gaming con, so hopefully I meet someone there

I think it would be nice to have the option to hide numbers on ao3. Make it where the 'kudos' and 'hits' number is author-viewable only, have an alternate option for when a list is sorted by such so people can read things based off their tags and preferences rather than see big number go brrrr

I speak as someone with popular fics, it doesn't have to be a requirement but like, as an option? This could go for other websites too, tumblr notes and the like.

This is Zu—I mean, Jian Li and Katara's second meeting in the Kyoshi Warriors AU. The first proper one, anyway.

Once they get through a minor difference of opinion or two (“I can carry my own basket!” “Never said you—” “I'm not weak!” “I didn't—” “Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean—” “Would you listen for once, woman?!” ) they'll become nearly inseparable.

For now Jian Li will carry Katara's basket all the way to the Kyoshi Warriors' dojo and, once there, they'll mercilessly tease Sokka when they see him in uniform.
